Good Friday homeless intake center early closures
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Roosevelt Darby Intake Center will close at 1 p.m. and Appletree Family Center will close at 5 p.m. in observance of the Good Friday holiday.
Both sites will reopen on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 7 a.m. Until then, our after-hour intake centers will be open:
- House of Passage, 111 N. 49th Street
- The Mike Hinson Resource Center, 1701 W. Lehigh Avenue
- Red Shield Family Residence, 715 N. Broad Street or ACTS After-hour Intake Site, 1300 E. Tulpehocken Street

To get help for someone who’s living or sleeping on the street, call the City’s Homeless Street Outreach hotline: (215) 232-1984.
Now open: homeless prevention programs RFP
The Office of Homeless Services (OHS) seeks proposals for Homeless Prevention Programs, including the provision of Financial Assistance and/or Housing Support Services.
OHS is specifically seeking proposals for the following three (3) types of programs:
- Program 1: Provision of financial/rental assistance only.
- Program 2: Provision of case management in support of participants receiving rental assistance from another source.
- Program 3: Provision of both medium/long-term rental assistance and housing support services for participants. Applicants may apply for more than one Program but must submit a separate proposal for each one.
Application deadline
No later than 5 p.m. Philadelphia Time on May 2, 2025.

RFP open for Single Room Occupancy program
The Office of Homeless Services seeks proposals from not-for-profit organizations (“providers”) to operate a Single Room Occupancy program.
The program will provide housing opportunities for individual adults (“participants”) who are experiencing homelessness. They may be older adults (age 55 and up).
Application deadline
No later than 5 p.m. Philadelphia Time on May 5, 2025.
Pre-proposal informational meeting
A pre-proposal meeting will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11 a.m., Philadelphia Time via Zoom.

Emergency shelter funding opportunity now available
The Office of Homeless Services seeks proposals for the operation of emergency shelter, including:
- Emergency shelter serving single men, single women and couples
- Emergency shelter for households with children
- Emergency shelter for single adult female households
- Emergency shelter for single adult male households
Mandatory site visit
A mandatory site visit for applicants interested in proposing to provide emergency shelter and services for households with children will be conducted at 1300 E. Tulpehocken Street, Philadelphia PA 19138 on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10 a.m. Philadelphia Time.
Application deadline
No later than 5 p.m. Philadelphia Time on May 12, 2025.
