Working across agencies to ensure the safety of Philadelphians by managing flood risks and adapting to a changing climate.

About

The Flood Management Program is the City's coordinated approach to flood risk management. The Flood Risk Management Task Force (FRMTF), a cross-departmental coalition, oversees the program.

The Task Force works to:

Educate the public about flood hazards.
Develop regulations and risk mapping for flood hazards.
Prioritize flood concerns in City decision-making.
Inform smart land development.
Improve the City’s flood resilience through mitigation actions, programs, and resources.

Our work supports residents, businesses, developers, and our flood resilience partners.

Floodplain Protection Forms

Submit these forms with all zoning and building permit applications within the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) or floodplain.

Atlas is the City's mapped-based information tool. Use Atlas to check zoning information for a property, including if a property is located in the floodplain.
