City health centers

City health centers are operated by the Department of Public Health.

Eight City health centers provide a full range of primary medical and support services to registered patients. The health centers accept urgent care (walk-in) patients but require appointments for certain services. Call ahead to make sure the service you need is available when you plan to visit.

Registered patients can use our secure HealthCenterConnect Patient Portal to get online information about their care, appointments, and health education. Patients can also sign up at health centers to receive HealthCenterConnect messaging services (coming soon).

Translation and interpretation services are available for health center patients and their families.

Note: Masks are not required in the health centers, but you will be asked to wear a mask if you have cold symptoms.

Flu vaccine

Flu vaccine is available at the City health centers below for residents of Philadelphia. You do not need to be a registered patient to get a flu shot at these locations.

Proof of Philadelphia residency is required. If you have an insurance card, please bring it to the health center. We will also provide flu vaccine to people who don’t have insurance. Flu vaccine is available to any resident 6 months and older.

Flu vaccine is available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call ahead before going to a health center.

Insurance and payment

Health centers accept Medicare, Medicaid, HMO plans, and most other insurance options.

If you are uninsured, the centers will charge a small fee based on family size and income. Health centers can also help you apply for affordable health insurance.

A note about billing and scam calls
We will never call to ask for payment by credit card or banking information. Payment is in person at the health center with cash or a money order, depending on the services received.
