Foreclosure Prevention Grant Program

Providing funds to help homeowners who are three or more months behind on their mortgage catch up.

About

The Foreclosure Prevention Grant Program helps homeowners who have fallen behind on mortgage payments and are at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The City’s Division of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) partners with a local agency to administer the program. Any of the City’s funded housing counseling agencies can make referrals if funding is available.

To be eligible for assistance, you must:

  • Be experiencing a financial crisis and at risk of becoming homeless.
  • Lack financial resources or supports to avoid delinquency and possible homelessness.
  • Be able to provide proof of home ownership, such as a deed or tax records.
